Pennysworth Barn

Pennysworth is a magnificently restored 1850s post and beam barn with a cathedral ceiling, large granite fireplace, both antique and authentic barn furnishings, and wide-planked walls and floors.

You’ll love the ambiance Pennysworth’s of re-purposed post & beam barn/house, the large stone terrace, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and huge firepit. There is a large chefs kitchen that can easily accommodate multiple cooks. The 2 bedrooms & loft combined can sleep up to 8.

Thistledown Farm’s location offers fresh & saltwater activities, walking preserves all on our dead-end road. It’s a quiet getaway, yet close to all there is to do in midcoast Maine.

Udder Heaven Barn Apartment

Thistledown Farm’s Udder Heaven occupies the entire ground floor of a repurposed 1800’s barn. Post and beam throughout, with barn board floors & walls, it is tastefully appointed with period antiques. The open plan design incorporates the living, dining, and kitchen areas. A parlor-style wood stove, french doors, and old store counter kitchen center island help set the scene. The front doors open to a large private terrace and garden. There are 2 bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry room.

Sheep Shed Cottage

Thistledown Farm’s Sheep Shed Cottage was created by joining 2 handhewn post and beam barns. It is furnished with unique antiques and old barn finds. The sleeping loft is accessible only by a ship’s ladder. Adults and kids alike LOVE it. It is a great place to kick back! The accommodations are rustic-more like “glamping” than a dolled-up seaside cottage. This is a seasonal space, so bookings are only available mid-May to mid-October.

The Pemaquid is a large safari-style tent tucked away in a peaceful wooded setting. Come get away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet that Thistledown Farm has to offer. You’ll have your own firepit and an endless supply of free firewood!
